Beach!

August 15th, 2007 by Todd

I was absolutely stoked to read in the metro on Friday that a beach volleyball competition was going to be held in Regents Park on the weekend!!

I used to love playing beach in a local competition in Brisbane (at Salisbury sports – which at the time was easily the best club). A few of you have [...]

New toy

August 14th, 2007 by Todd

Warning: If techy stuff bores you stop reading now
I got myself a new gadget to use for travelling (but I have been wanting to buy one for years) – a GPS device. It’s a small, simple GPS data logger that can be used for the usual sorts of things. For example, finding your current exact location (within [...]

Weekend of Toast

July 24th, 2007 by Todd

On Friday night we caught up with Nic, Scott, and Ash to see a movie. We ended up seeing Die Hard 4.0 – an awesome action movie, but the computer hacking stuff was brain poison!
Sunday was Toast. The Toast Australia/New Zealand food and wine festival actually.
We headed down to Fulham Palace for the Australian day of the festival. [...]

Summer vs Winter

July 24th, 2007 by Todd

On Saturday I went to Hampstead Heath with Shan to catch up with her friend Em. We had a picnic, but unfortunately we managed to find a spot surrounded by dogs. The dog owners are quite happy to sit back, watch, and ignore you as their dogs:

Somehow mistake you for a tree (I just got out of [...]

Housewarming!

June 20th, 2007 by Todd

Saturday night was the long-awaited housewarming party.
Between us (the flatmates) we invited quite a few people. The neighbours came and joined the party during the night as well. We thought that lots of people would head off for the last tubes about midnight, but it continued on much later.
There’s plenty of photos of the party here (quite a [...]

Sunny London

April 16th, 2007 by Todd

It was a wonderfully sunny and warm weekend in London this weekend!
Shan and I had dinner with Kirsty and John on Friday night (thanks guys), before enjoying a typical sleep-in on Saturday morning, and lazing and sunbaking in Regents park on Saturday afternoon. That night we celebrated Joe’s birthday in a south American restaurant in Fulham.
Sunday morning saw [...]

Flower market

January 29th, 2007 by Todd

For something different on Sunday, we went to the Columbia road flower markets. These markets have stalls selling all kinds of flowers, plants, and orchids.

There’s also cafe’s and shops nearby selling random things. It’s always good to go out and see somewhere different for a change, and I actually enjoyed it.

Petrus

January 24th, 2007 by Todd

For Shannon’s birthday last night we went out to dinner. However I figured we should take the opportunity to try the fine dining thing in London, so I suprised her with dinner for two at Petrus.
We had a good time being attended to by the waiters, even thought we struggled with the obligatory thick french accents. [...]

Christmas Party season

December 14th, 2006 by Todd

Tis the season to drink for free at christmas parties!
There’s always plenty of work christmas functions at this time of year, some rather extravagant affairs, some not so much. There’s a party for every step of the employment food chain!
I also got to go to Shan’s work christmas do. Here’s us looking gorgeous:

A couple more [...]

Ice Skating

November 26th, 2006 by Todd

This time of year there are various ice skating rinks setup around the city, and they’re pretty popular so you have to book your tickets in advance.
Nic organised a group outing to go skating at the Natural History Museum. The weather hasn’t exactly been cold enough for it this year though, and it had rained [...]
